In October of 2013 we took an excursion on the Virginia & Truckee RR. The excursion was offered through the Central Coast Chapter of the National RR Historical Society. We boarded the train at the Carson City Eastgate depot and did an excursion of the unfinished Carson Cyn. route. We then traveled by bus from Eastgate to Virginia City, photographing the train from headed to Virginia from several vantage points. We then toured the V & T shop facilities in Virginia City. After lunch we returned to Virginia City to tour the Nevada State RR Museum. We then road the V & T from Northgate to Virginia City.
